Our Review:

Different from many of the commercial sites in this category, HotCam.ro is extremely cheap to join and enables you to contact people all over the world for fun and sexy chat, and maybe more. It looks a little untidy, but offers a remarkably immersive chat experience and is a refreshing change to all those pay per minute sites. 

HotCam.ro is a cams community site, which means that it differs from the more commercial cams sites in a number of ways. The idea behind it is to connect people across the world for friendship, romance dating and other relationships. So, don't come here expecting the usual sexcam format as there is no member/performer division. This means that you should have your own cam in order to communicate with others.

To register you'll need to give your email address and create a profile for yourself; there are no charges for this at first. That is, you begin by signing up on a free trial basis before being given the option of taking out a Gold or Platinum membership. This gives you the opportunity to look around the site before making a financial commitment. But, don't expect to be able to view or get in touch with other members until you pay the very modest membership upgrade fee.  

From the homepage you'll notice that many of the cams are adult-oriented. You'll also notice that there are always a huge number of members online - it would be misleading to call them performers - though not all of these are sex chat rooms. All of the sexcam chat rooms feature amateur exhibitionists and those who want to meet likeminded others. Because there are so many different members on the site, the comprehensive search engine (accessed from the homepage) is invaluable. You can specify a range of criteria in order to pinpoint exactly the type of person you are looking to chat with.

There are no grades of chat on the site. Basically, what happens is negotiated between you and other members. It's impossible to comment on quality because it varies so much. Just don't expect anything too polished. There are no additional fees for chatting either. Because it's not a commercial site, the quality of the cam can be better or worse depending on the member's cam setup. In addition, the screen size is smaller than on many commercial cams sites, although for what the site is charging you can't really complain. Also, unlike the commerical sites, you may develop an online relationship with other members; however, do be careful as there are plenty of scammers masquerading as pretty young ladies. Just don't be tempted to part with any money if somebody declares their undying affection for you.

In terms of other features, you could spend quite a lot of time doing things other than chatting. It's possible to create a very detailed profile for others to see. You can upload pictures, create blogs, start up or join groups, play games and send and receive messages. If you're not really into creating a site presence and just want to see some hot action, this may not be the best place for you. In addition, the amateurs you'll find aren't always up to the standard of those on the commercial sites; but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to chat here. You can also view member-uploaded pictures and video clips, which can be quite hardcore There are a number of other features too, but again, unless you are interested in becoming immersed in the community aspect of the site, these may not necessarily be of particular interest. The FAQs section of the site may answer some of your questions and resolve any minor problems, but there is also a good support desk to help you out.

In summary, for a more immersive and less commercial chat room experience then look no further. Whilst the cam quality and screen size may not compare with other sites, there are more members looking for sexy chat than you can shake a stick at, and the price you pay is rock-bottom.
