If you’re looking for a website about deceased nocturnal rodents then you’ve come to the wrong place. Instead this is a sex cam site which offers a wide range of categories to satisfy most desires,  helping to inform you as to who is online, when, and what they’re doing.

xHamsterCams allows you to perform advanced searches for performers based on your specific preferences, including gender, body type and sexual preferences. It also allows you to sort your results by the language spoken, the region and the specific features of the web cam experience. These features include the quality of video and audio, the ability to call in, party chats and gold shows. Gold shows allow viewers to add money into a “pot” of money, which, when it gathers enough money, will allow the real show to begin. This can be somewhat boring at times as you have to wait for the performer to reach enough money before they will start the show, but there is a countdown so you know how long you’ll have to wait, and you can also easily leave a room and join another.

Videos run very smoothly in general and the sound quality, although dependent on the performer’s equipment, is usually clear. The quality of the video isn’t always great, but again this can depend on the quality of the performer’s web cam and lighting.

Chat features are relatively basic and primarily consist of text chat, although you can enter into private sessions with performers, particularly if you have enough gold credit. You can also view the performer’s profile, which tells you a little about them (such as their age, appearance, turn ons, experience and a little about their shows). You can view photos and videos, view member comments and follow the performer’s schedule.

In “party” sessions, sudden disappearances can be something of an irritation. When watching a performer they might suddenly close their public broadcast in favour of a private sessions. This isn’t so much of an issue if you’ve paid for the private session, but the interruptions can be quite frequent. Also, although you can ignore what other viewers are typing, they can sometimes irk performers which ruins the general experience for all.

The number and variety of models available is fine, but not great. At any one time you may have a couple of hundred performers online but not performing, at other times you’ll have thousands of performers available to you. Although technical support is 24/7 and offers a live chat, we found that it was difficult to get hold of a customer service member, and when we did they gave an abrupt answer to our question and then signed off without us being able to follow up.

Everything considered, xhamster offers a decent amount of content for free, but you may find that you’ll be usurped by users who have more gold than you. The amount of information available on each performer is very useful and being able to follow their schedules means that you can plan to be online when your favourites are too.
